They face unique challenges in communicating, not only because of the differences in language but also in culture.
The tribal people's beliefs, value systems, and worldview are fundamentally different than ours.
This raises serious questions for the missionary:
- What challenges could be expected in moving from Canada (materialistic and technologically advanced) to an isolated village in a developing country?
- How does one live a life that glorifies the Lord when every day is full of unexpected difficulties?
- How are relationships with the people developed?
- Will English and a Canadian background be sufficient to communicate Biblical truth to the people?
- How can the Gospel be presented to people who have no Biblical foundation?
- Does it matter that the people can't read or write their own language?
You can learn the answers to these questions in NTMC's two-year Missionary Training Course. This specialized training reflects over 60 years of church-planting experience and has been shaped through a cooperative effort of NTM missionaries.
