The children’s relationships are often a bridge for the missionary team to develop relationships with the tribal people.
NTM has established an education department to work in fellowship with missionary parents to ensure that quality care and education for their children can be accomplished, while serving in situations unique to NTM’s ministry. A board of educators oversees the NTM education department.
The education department provides assistance and guidance with the diverse educational options available to missionary families in the following ways:
- Home-Schooling – education consultants coordinate home-schooling programs on the various fields
- Educational Materials – assistance with selection and ordering
- MK Boarding Schools – boarding home parents, teachers, education administrators
- Students with Learning Differences – consultation for available therapy and individualization of instruction
- MK Care and Educational Standards – consultation with fields as they develop, implement, and maintain standards for MK care and education
- Pre-Field Orientation - for those planning to work in MK care and education overseas
- Home-Schooling Workshops - for missionaries planning to home-school
- MK Shepherding – support for MKs and their families: a nurturing ministry
- Resource Library – sample curricula, books, videos, and catalogues for educators and parents
