TEENAGER LEADS THE WAY
November 2, 2004
Batnas couldn't wait. He wanted answers to his questions.
Throughout the evangelistic Bible teaching to the Kumans, the teenage boy has asked very perceptive questions. Saturday he took some of his questions to missionary Will Tallman.
As they talked, Batnas understood the message that Will and his co-worker, Ken White, will be teaching the rest of the Kumans this week. He understood that Christ paid for his sins once and for all, and he placed his faith in Christ.
Others hearing the teaching are on the verge of making the same discovery.
There's the old couple who missionaries weren't sure would even live long enough to hear the teaching, Dua and Agnes. She is blind and he is losing his eyesight, but Ken wrote, "We are thankful that they are still able to hear the message."
Dominik seems to be struggling with his beliefs as he compares the Bible teaching he's hearing now with what he's heard in the past. He's having an especially difficult time believing that there is nothing man can do to save himself.
Then there's Sandy, the wife of the local council member who originally invited the missionaries to move into the village, and Karai, Ire Pita, and Joe and Anna. These and others will be hearing of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
"The group continually acknowledges that they are sinners in need of a Savior," wrote Ken, "so we trust that many will place their faith in Jesus and what He did for them on the cross."
Pray that they will truly understand and believe the Gospel.
