ONE VILLAGE TAUGHT, ON TO THE NEXT!

Inapang people are learning to read, so they can read God`s Word for themselves.

November 17, 2008

by David Bell

Inapang literacy teachers in Papua New Guinea began classes today in a neighboring village.

The teachers finished two classes in their own village last week and had a graduation ceremony on Saturday. Now they want their neighbors to learn to read and write.

Some of the teachers may move to the village where they will be teaching while others will make a daily walk -- an hour each way.

Though some of the teachers are feeling intimidated by the task before them, missionaries Bill and Kelley Housley wrote, "We are excited for them … to have to be thrown on the Lord for strength in these times -- just as we ourselves have had to do as we look at difficult or challenging hurdles in the road of life and ministry."

Please pray that many more Inapangs will learn to read and write so they can read God's Word and come to have a strong faith in Christ.
