PROCESS FOR BECOMING AN ASSOCIATE

HOME

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BECOMING AN ASSOCIATE?

1. Pre-application:

  • Complete and return a Preliminary Questionnaire.
  • An Associate team-member assists you in finding a good ministry fit and a written job description from a particular field.
  • Discuss your intentions with home church administration and receive their input.

2. Application: Complete the application process (This takes about 4-6 weeks).

3. Approval: Applications are submitted to NTM’s Personnel Department for their consideration. Upon approval an account is opened for you.

4. Pre-Field Preparation:

  • Obtain passports, visas and immunizations.
  • Raise prayer and financial support: Each missionary is responsible for the cost of travel, monthly living, insurance, and limited administrative expenses.

5. Orientation:

  • Prepare for Pre-Field Orientation (PFO) by reading assigned materials and completing designated study projects.
  • Attend the June or November PFO in Sanford, Florida. (For the orientation, families with children, nursing infants excepted, should make arrangements to leave them with family or friends).

6. Overseas Ministry: Associates may serve with NTM for six months to four years. Most fields ask that you arrive at least two weeks before your assignment begins.
