But it is people who put feet and hands to the strategies and see churches established.

NTMC missionaries are not salaried. Whether serving overseas or in Canada, they all trust the Lord to meet their ministry expenses and personal expenses.

Needy Missionaries: If you do not know an NTMC missionary personally, you have the option of contributing to NTMC’s “Needy Personnel Fund” – from which missionaries are helped as needs arise.

You might want to consider supporting a missionary who is from your home area; contact our office for some suggestions regarding who could use help.

Ministry and Personal Expenses

NTMC does not withhold a percent of missionary support to cover administrative or organizational expenses. Each missionary is responsible to cover the costs associated with his or her own ministry.

Ministry Expenses:

• Airfare to the field of service
• Airfare within the field of service – in and out of tribal village
• Visa and consular fees
• Computers (often more than one) and related equipment
• Office supplies
• Printing costs
• Communications
• Socio-economic and medical projects

Personal Expenses:

• Food, clothing and shelter
• Education costs for children
• Field-related expenses shared by missionaries
• Inoculations and vaccinations
• Income tax, EI, CPP contributions
• Vacation and recreation (much needed)
• Vehicles – capital costs, fuel and maintenance
• Health and Life insurance
• Retirement savings

Missionaries who serve in Canada also have ministry and personal expenses – especially if they own a home; life in Canada is often more expensive than living abroad.  Sadly, many missionaries experience a decrease in their financial support when they return from overseas service to fill an important ministry need in Canada, simply because they are no longer overseas.
